It’s great to be home!
Welcome!
Our Men’s Shed is a community-based, non-commercial organisation. The Shed is open to all men from Midleton and the surrounding region.
The picture above shows a crowning moment in our recent history; the placing of the sign on our new shed in Midleton.
The primary activity of our ‘shed’ is the provision of a safe, friendly and inclusive environment. A place where we are able to gather and/or work on meaningful projects at our own pace, in our own time and in the company of other men. Also, it is a place where the primary objective is to advance the health and well-being of our participating men.
It is a place to chat, have a cuppa, read the newspaper, browse the internet , or just relax and enjoy the company of like-minded men.
Men’s sheds may look like a shed in your back yard, yet they innovatively share some characteristics of both community education and health promotion projects.
We are affiliated to the Irish Men’s Shed Association (IMSA), from which we get advice and assistance with running our shed. In these times of Corona Virus, we have taken all the advice from the HSA and IMSA into account in reopening our shed ‘post covid’. We continue to monitor the ever changing situation on a regular basis.
Men’s Sheds are a global phenomenon. There are more than 400 across the island of Ireland, with over 10,000 members. Our ‘shedder’ comrades can be found all across the UK, and as far afield as Canada and Australia.
The numbers are growing all the time, as awareness grows regarding Men’s Health and Men’s Welfare issues.
